This entry discusses DTP’s work in the education market, in particular their work at Manchester Metropolitan University, in which a managed print solution was implemented to allow the consolidation of copiers, printers, faxes and scanners into a single managed environment. As well as significantly reducing MMU’s carbon footprint and giving increased control over their print fleet, the estimated annual savings for MMU stand at over £500,000 in paper, energy and equipment costs.

This entry discusses DTP’s work with YHMAN (a northern university consortia), where we utilised our technical skills around VMware and HP enterprise solutions to build a virtual data centre across three University physical data centres. The solution offers YHMAN users flexible resource allocation, rapid provisioning and resource utilisation tracking as a platform service. It also delivers significant savings in energy consumption and massive advantages in terms of utilisation optimisation, along with the closest thing possible to 100% availability.
