07 Sep DTP make Shortlist for IT Industry Environment Award

by Alex Witham

This week, DTP group have been announced as a finalist in the ‘UK IT Industry Awards’ for the ‘Environment Award’. This is for the outstanding work which DTP undertook with Leeds Metropolitan University.

DTP have been working with Leeds Metropolitan University on a managed print rollout for approx 18months. In this time DTP demonstrated commitment in providing an excellent service, reducing print costs and helping Leeds Met in its steps in becoming a leading ‘Green University’.

“The electricity to run our old fleet cost us £40,000 a year and we expect that to be halved because not only are we using fewer devices but they are also more energy efficient” – Gavin Weiner, deputy networked systems manager at Leeds Met.

The new system, which replaces Leeds Mets ageing fleet of 2,000 printers and copiers, is set to cut printing costs by 50% and paper wastage by 30%, thus continuing to contribute to the ‘Green’ status Leeds Met are striving for.

The Event is to be held at the Battersea Events Arena, on November 10th 2011.
