On Wednesday 21st December, 30 members of staff from Leeds-based DTP Group, Be Fuelcards and The Right Fuelcard Company fought it out in a giant game of ‘killer pool’ to raise money for DTP’s charity of the year, Martin House Children’s Hospice. During the competition players took it in turns to pot the balls and as they failed, they were eliminated which led to one eventual winner.
The winner Sunil Patel of The Right Fuelcard Company, won himself a bottle of champagne, along with respect from fellow employees and over £60 was raised at the event. This was matched by DTP as part of its pledge to match funds raised by its employees, to make the total donation £120.
Steve Clegg, DTP’s Financial Controller comments, “This event was the first in a calendar of fundraising events we are hosting to raise funds for Martin House Children’s Hospice and was a real success. It was great to see two local businesses coming together to have fun and also support a worthy cause. There’s already talk of an Easter re-match!”.
Martin House Children’s Hospice provides family-led care for children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses. It is a place where children, young people and their families stay from time to time along their journey and find support, rest and practical help.
