Q) Does a managed print service mean I will lose the printer on my desk?

A) A managed print service with DTP is all about Balance. Balanced Deployment means the right device in the right place for the right person or role. We always try to achieve this for our customers corporately and individually.

By using professional best of breed print auditing tools in your environment we can analyse the current state of your printing. Using industry standard guidelines and common sense we can then adjust and consolidate the print and copy fleet to locate new and existing devices in the place they are best suited in terms of output volume and features.

Desk top printers are cheap to buy, but very expensive to run. By reducing these there are significant gains to be made for the organisation in terms of cost and carbon. However, there has to be a balance. If you took out all the printers and just had one huge copier in the middle of the room it would be cheaper from a cost point of view, but very expensive in terms of productivity and morale. So in a balanced deployment you could have a good, fast, full featured, shared A4 mono printer comfortably near to you, and If you do occasionally require A3 or colour booklets, then you may have to walk a little bit further, but never far.

Q) Does a Managed Print Service mean I will loose all of my valuable current estate?

A) DTP Managed Services Division (as part of a managed service contract) will always look to make use of valuable existing customer equipment, that's why we expect to offer our customers a phased approach and balanced deployment within the new infrastructure design. All usable existing assets will have a full life cycle write off period or end date.
