A SUMMER REFRESH AT UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL LANCASHIRE (UCLAN)
In the summer of 2012 University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) undertook a new project to renew over 1,600 devices which were coming to the end of their five-year life. DTP was selected from a number of IT resellers as its tender submission, which included HP Desktops, most closely matched the requirements of the University (UCLAN).

ENERGY EFFICIENT PRODUCTS BACKED BY GOOD SERVICE
The University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) opted for 1,600 Elite 8300 Desktops in a mixture of form factors, paired with the HP 2206xc Multimedia monitors. Ian Blinkhorn, UCLAN’s Hardware Support Team Manager, comments, “We chose HP because they are reliable and we were able to get the product specifications we needed. This, combined with the product supply and service from DTP, gave us the full service we needed for such a project.”
All of the new devices are energy star rated and, given the newer models are generally more energy efficient, the roll-out should deliver energy savings back to the University (UCLAN).
