DTP Solutionpath is NTU’s Supplier of the Year
Nottingham Trent University (NTU) recently held their Supplier Recognition Lunch and Awards which, now in their second year, recognise and reward the efforts and achievements of NTU’s suppliers. DTP Solutionpath was thrilled to be presented with the top award, “Supplier of the Year”, for which nominations could only be made by students or employees of NTU.
“As one of the Judges and as Head of Procurement for the University, it was clear to me that DTP Solutionpath had gone beyond simply engaging with NTU in a supplier customer relationship context, but had developed innovative tools and resources that were having a direct impact on student engagement. As teaching is at the heart of all we do, having tools that help simplify, stimulate and optimise student learning is crucial”, Gillian Askew, Head of Procurement at NTU.
Recognising DTP Solutionpath’s contribution
The Award recognises DTP Solutionpath’s contribution to NTU’s student experience and retention programmes, through the development of their Student Dashboard. The Dashboard, powered by DTP Solutionpath’s StREAM service (STudent Retention, Engagement and Attainment Monitoring), uses data analytics to draw together data from existing university systems such as library records, student records, assessments and attendance reports. The results are delivered in a user-friendly dashboard, which can be viewed by students and their tutors, and alerts tutors when student engagement falls below predetermined levels, prompting them to intervene. This gives staff an incredibly valuable early opportunity to help get a student back on track.
Professor Eunice Simmons, NTU’s Pro-Vice Chancellor Academic: “The Dashboard is starting to make a real difference to our support for students! For example, it can show different measures that evidence whether students are engaging with their course, so we don’t have to rely on just one measure. This year, for the first time, it has also meant that full information on entry qualifications can be made easily accessible to tutors for each student”.
As well as being named “Supplier of the Year”, DTP Solutionpath also won the award for “Contribution to Student Experience”, and was nominated for the “Innovation Award”.
A key part in NTU’s recent Times Higher Education Award win
The Predictive Analytics Dashboard was key to NTU’s recent win of the Times Higher Education Award for “Outstanding Support for Students”, where they were recognised for their commitment to deliver a superior level of experience to their students by utilising the unique data analytics service from DTP Solutionpath. Additionally, in April 2015, NTU climbed to 13th in the “University of the Year” category at the “UK What Uni Student Choice Awards”, which represented an impressive increase of 22 places compared to 2014. This Award is based entirely on the experiences of students, with students voting on different categories relating to university life.
Richard Gascoigne, DTP Solutionpath’s Co-founder and Director, is naturally delighted with the award win and comments: “This is truly a great accolade and one that we are all very proud of indeed. It reflects a collaborative working arrangement, not just from the NTU IT team, but also across the University. To be recognised in such a way from our first ‘customer’ is testament to the commitment, industry and application from all involved in the project, and we are proud to service NTU and to be seen as their supplier of the year.”
