The recent Times Higher Education Awards saw Nottingham Trent University (NTU) win the Outstanding Support for Students Award for their commitment to deliver the best possible experience to their students utilising a unique data analytics service.
A predictive analytics service delivered as a user-friendly Dashboard
The predictive analytics service, developed in partnership with DTP Solutionpath and Hewlett-Packard, delivers a Student Dashboard to the University’s tutors which brings together a wide range of information about individual students into a single location and creates an easily digestible digital view of student engagement.
Now in its second year of use, the Dashboard has proved to be an intuitive and practical way for staff to manage their many one-to-one connections with students, and has earned strong testimonials from tutors and students.
A well deserved win by NTU and recognition for DTP Solutionpath
Toni Pearce, president of the National Union of Students and one of the Awards’ judges, said that NTU had shown “outstanding commitment” to supporting its students by using “sophisticated data analytics to ensure that they get the best possible experience with their personal tutor while at university”.
Now in their tenth year, the Times Higher Education Awards are a highlight of the academic calendar, shining a spotlight on the outstanding achievements of institutions, teams and individuals in the UK higher education sector.
“We’re delighted to win this award. It recognises a great collaborative effort between DTP Solutionpath, tutors, students and NTU’s professional services to create a student support system, which is truly ground-breaking”, says Mike Day, Director of Information Systems at Nottingham Trent University.
Richard Gascoigne, Director and Co-founder at DTP Solutionpath comments “We are over the moon with the recognition from Times Higher Education and the judging panel for our work at NTU. The collaborative project, which has delivered a Student Dashboard powered by our StREAM technology, has proved to be a seminal piece of work for both parties in creating a better student experience which will see both attainment and progression improvements, and offers a platform for many other exciting future initiatives”.
